“I feel so incredibly fortunate to be part of The Justice Desk’s team, who work tirelessly, and always passionately, to alleviate the suffering experienced by so many of our nation’s people. I cannot call myself a child of Africa, if I do not live my life according to the Ubuntu philosophy where I can only be because someone else is. In order for me to live fully and completely, those who walk this earth alongside me, need to live fully and completely as well. I want another’s life to matter as much as my own, to be protected as much as my own, and to be as joyful and free and welcomed as much as my own.”

“Becoming a Goodwill Ambassador for The Justice Desk has been one of the highlights of my career as a musician so far. I’m so honored to be a part of such an incredible organization and to get to work with and learn from some of the most amazing humans I have ever met. There exists so much potential for me to make a massive difference by being a part of The Justice Desk and I can’t wait to increasingly tap into that potential. I feel like I can do so much more now with The Justice Desk as the vehicle facilitating real change within communities like the one I grew up in.”

Our Global Goodwill Ambassadors volunteer their time, passion, energy and talents to promote human rights and the aims of The Justice Desk. They are usually renowned and talented individuals from their chosen field, who have been enlisted to advocate for the various causes of The Justice Desk. They promote the ideals and mission of the organisation to the world, using their unique platforms and expertise. They encourage others to support the work and campaigns of The Justice Desk, and speak out in relation to human rights violations. Their main objectives are to raise awareness, support and fundraise for the different projects of The Justice Desk.

Craig Lucas, South African singer, songwriter, and winner of The Voice SA Season 2 - joined The Justice Desk in 2019 as our first ever Global Goodwill Ambassador. Since then, he has been using his platform to promote and support the work of TJD.

Marco Spaumer, the celebrated South African actor who is well-loved for his role as Tim De Plooy on the popular Afrikaans soapie Suidooster, joined The Justice Desk in 2020 as a GWA. He has shown true commitment as an everyday activist!
