Trafficking in Persons
Today, around 40.3 million people – more than at any time in our history – are living in some form of modern slavery.

Human trafficking is on the rise in South Africa and we are one of the top 10 trafficking source and destination countries in the world.

Human trafficking is the 3rd largest international crime, raking in billions of dollars each year. Human trafficking brings in more revenue than Google, Starbucks, Nike and the NFL combined.

In South Africa, trafficking victims are used for forced labor, sex trafficking, organ trafficking, illegal adoptions and many more.

Our Projects
Anti-Human Trafficking Project
The Justice Desk uses our platform to lobby and advocate against trafficking in persons within South Africa, Zimbabwe and Zambia. We are also a strong advocate against TIP at an international level. At the grassroots level, we work alongside communities in order to empower them in developing anti-trafficking strategies. These strategies have a strong prevention focus.
