2019 came and went as a greatly successful year at The Justice Desk. From launching new projects such as the Mbokodo Club to hosting Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, we continued to impact the lives of individuals in the South Central African region.
Following our vision of empowering communities, we successfully established the Mbokodo Club project. This project aims to equip and empower survivors of gender-based violence, sexual assault and abuse in Nyanga, with the tools needed to live a meaningful life. This would not be possible without the contributions from our amazing mentors and the team at Kings Boxing Gym.
An additional highlight of 2019 was The Justice Desk celebrating our 6th birthday and impacting the lives 220,000 people!
Our upcoming projects include “Happiness House” in Wesbank which is a safe space for women and children to meet and be taught income-generating skills. We will also be establishing “Ntsika yeThemba” which focuses on redefining masculinity by offering positive male role-model encounters to young men in South Africa.
We are incredibly excited to see what the new year holds for us as we have many exciting projects launching in the upcoming months.
With the determination within our team as well as the volunteers, funders, donors, partners and the courage of the communities we work in, anything is possible.
